Course Structure, Modules & Key Features

The master’s program is completed in four semesters in a full-time study model and comprises a total of 120 ECTS credits. The curriculum is structured into several competence areas covering subject-specific knowledge, extended professional competencies, practice-oriented skills as well as scientific and methodological training. Students deepen their understanding of psychosocial health, social diagnostics and intervention strategies across different life stages, including childhood, adolescence and adulthood. Practical and reflective learning elements form an important part of the program. In addition, the program emphasizes empirical research methods that prepare students for academic work and evidence-based practice in social work. The blended learning concept combines classroom teaching on campus with online learning formats and guided self-study, enabling a structured yet flexible study experience. The program concludes with a master’s thesis and the degree “Master of Arts (M. A.)”.

Admission Requirements

  • Authorization to study in the Master's degree program according to § 10 BerlHG (Berliner Hochschulgesetz)
